| Antitrust
And Competition The Lebanese
antitrust regulation suffers from enormous
leaks. Antitrust enforcement authorities
are still weak and limited to the Prices
and Monopoly Department, which is a part
of the Consumer Protection Directorate
at the Ministry of Economy.
Nevertheless, disputes involving monopoly
practices may arise before commercial
and criminal courts. Even in Lebanon,
companies that neglect the antitrust issues
may find themselves entrapped in costly
litigation, dissipating their resources
and tarnishing their reputation.
SOUAIBY RASSI advises clients on a broad
spectrum of antitrust issues, such as:
- Price discrimination
- Abuse of dominant position
- Tying arrangements
- Supplier relationships
- Dealer terminations
- Trade association matters
- Horizontal undertakings by competitors
We also intervene in the structuring
of joint ventures, the operation of distribution
systems and the drafting of licensing
or distribution agreements. |
